Hello there! It’s very nearly not Saturday any more, so I’m getting this post up just in the nick of time. Nothing like living on the edge, right? 😀 I will preface today’s poem by saying that I have a new obsession: night swinging. It’s a very simple joy, the beauty of swinging late at night under the stars – and it’s glorious. 😀 I don’t think I have to say much more than that – this poem should explain the rest. Enjoy!
~
Earth-bound body yet strangely free,
I fly in this crisp and gentle darkness –
up towards the star pricked sky
that yawns so widely over the silent world.
For a moment I am one with the wind and night,
reaching up towards diamond heavens.
Then I drop back to earth,
remembering I am but a human
as I shake star dust from my feet.

It’s just a little poem but I will say that I do rather like it… 😀 Or rather, the actual experiences behind it are what I like, hehe.
Do you enjoy swinging? What are some of the simple joys that you’ve experienced this past week? Let me know in the comments!
I love swinging and your poem perfectly describes why I do. It is so freeing and it allows me to forget the world for a few seconds and breath.
