I don’t have many words to share with you today. I’m sitting in New York airport waiting for my next flight that will take me back to Oregon for the Fall semester. Travelling is a weary business, especially when home is fading away in the distance and the prospect of hugging your family is now over four months away.
But it isn’t all doom and gloom. Despite the fresh memories of tears and final hugs, there is the anticipation of reunions to come and the joy of returning to a place I call my home away from home. There is always light among the shadows – a truth for which I am grateful.
The poem I want to share with you today is just a snippet of poetry that I wrote a couple months ago. But it resonated with my heart today, and I hope it will encourage you. 🙂
~
Look up from the darkness, my darling,
See the light among the shadows,
and trust –
there is good still to come.

I hope that today you will be confronted with the light among the shadows that life can hold. 🙂
I’d love to hear your thoughts/reactions to this poem in the comments below!
Goodbyes are always hard, and we’re sorry you and your family had to have a sad parting this morning. But we’re looking forward to meeting you at the airport tonight. You have a great year to look forward to at Corban.

Yes, my dear. We can look for good amongst the shadows because our heavenly Father “is good and His faithful love endures forever.” Ps. 107:1
